The human body is designed to fight off infection and sickness with a healthy immune system. We are all prone to picking up some germ or virus from time to time. For those of you who are reading this, you probably make it a habit to be healthy and stay fit. The most popular place to participate in healthy activities is the local gym, which is also one the highest concentrations of germs and viruses you can find. Everything is shared from equipment, to locker rooms, to shower floors, to weights and even the towels you use (even though they are clean) and even disinfectant does not really kill bacteria like you think it does.

Working out at home, with your own equipment (and your own germs) makes it much less likely to get sick or pick something up you really wish you hadn’t. With the growing number of people at the gym and the low cost of membership, it is harder and harder for you local gym to keep the place clean and sanitary. This is not to scare you but a simple fact that gyms can get pretty nasty and it may be worth the investment to put your own equipment in your home.
